update

Mum continues to improve. I have come back to London and spent most of the day doing interviews, having to describe exactly what it is liked to be raped and beaten - very slowly - for foreign journalists who have not read the book. There is not much more I want to say after that experience. I wanted to hang up several times today. I didn't.

Glad to hear your mother improves!
Good news on the interviews, but sorry you had to suffer the questions.
Hopefully it will lead to more people standing up and saying "it was.....", as they stand in the witness box.
Take care.

Having just read the first chapter of your book, that must have taken some strength.
Glad your mum is doing so well, I am in no doubt that she is a very proud mum.Knowing someone who has lost their child, it had made me realize how precious we are to our parents, not matter how old. Kia kaha

Hello Rachel, new reader here. My, you have been through the mill and back but your courage, steadfastness and humour shine through. You are an amazing woman.

As someone who has a sick mother I am pleased to read that your mother is making good progress. Long may that continue.

I too am happy to hear that your mother is improving fast and not happy to hear that you have to describe exactly for journalists your torture, I cannot think of a worse way to spend an hour or two as it would leave me shaking for a few hours or so after wards.

Regards

Henry
