Just thought you might like to know that the chosen charity for the Fulham W I ball on Saturday (for which you kindly donated one of your books)is the Sir Oswold Stoll Foundation which seeks to address the issue of ex-service men and women.

1 in 4 homeless people have a service background. The charity aims to provide housing and support for these men and women to help them lead independent lives.

Many thanks for your support Rachel.

I figure that Dr Crippen is being ruthlessly overworked or is in such a state about the NHS that he just hasnt had the time.

I know what my last few days have been like and I haven't felt like blogging at all, prompting one of my most dearly beloved readers to ask me if I'd hit the rum....

I hope that he's on a long, permanent break.

I used to LOVE his posts - reading them was a joy. But the more I read, the more I realised that he truly does hate midwives. He hates them.

His posts towards midwives became so vicious & unpleasant, as did his attitude towards homebirth, that I had to stop reading his blog.

Not everyone is like you Agatha, Some of us have experienced exceptional hatred from midwives and we get traumatised by it. Its a shame that there are midwives out there that are sociopathic and that give the profession a bad name. You would realise that there are always bad people in the world and his posts are probably as a result of his experiences. A good book for you to read about why one midwife who is terrible spoils the pot for the others is the Naked Ape and the other book by Desmond Morris. Its a very good book to explain human behaviour and why we do the things we do.

I would like to think that a GP would have more sensitivity to the many women that read his blog than to consistently & aggressively attack an entire branch of the medical profession.

The man is a misogynist.

I think you might have got the reason why he attacks you from your posting.

Midwives are not medical profession ok? They are the nursing and midwifery council not the general medical council. That maybe why you get flack from him.

Just an observation

Hahahahaha.

I know that Henry, it was just easier to write than the entire NMC mission statement....

I don't get flack from the man because I don't engage with him. Sadly, I find his once insightful blog to be depressing & rant-like. It's too much for this student.

OK?

Maybe he's had enough of blogging..
